West Indies Defeat Pakistan By 120 Runs In Their Home Soil After 34 Years

Pakistan was defeated by West Indies as the Caribbean side scored 120 runs higher than their rivals to level the series at 1-1, thus winning their second PAK vs WI Test in Multan that took place on Monday, January 27. The home side got bowled out for 133 runs with a target of 254 left to chase and were struggling on the Day 3 pitch that was tailored for spinners. The match was historic for West Indies as they won their fifth-ever game in the land of Pakistan and the first in 34 years. Jomel Warrican, the left-arm spinner, was highly impressive for the away team as he took 9 wickets and was the main reason behind Pakistan’s loss.

Although Pakistan triumphed with a 127-runs victory in the first test in Multan, the 1-1 series result has made them go to the bottom of the table in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points.

The last West Indies victory in Pakistan on their home soil occurred in November of 1990. The team was led by Desmond Haynes and they won the game over Imran Khan’s Pakistan by 7 wickets in Faisalabad.
