Breaking Bad ended in 2013, but the series has managed to survive past its original run AMC, through the global distribution of Netflix. The crime drama is one addictive series that audiences have gone back to more than once. The new generation who were not able to watch Breaking Bad during its time on air now had the chance to enjoy all of Breaking Bad because its availability on Netflix spread it throughout the world.
Breaking Bad freaks have become anxious about the show’s Netflix prospects after hearing some recent developments. Luckily for subscribers who don’t yet possess the series on any media, the show is not going anywhere for some time.
It was reported previously that the licensing agreement for Netflix to stream Breaking Bad will expire in February 2025. Considering how fast that time is approaching, fans were getting worried on social media that the show would leave its long-time streaming home. In an update, What’s On Netflix mentions that there is already a deal in place to keep Breaking Bad on Netflix until at least April 18, 2027.
It is assumed that Breaking Bad’s Netflix deal extension was somehow related to the sixth season and final season of the prequel series, Better Call Saul, being added to the platform. Better Call Saul was added on April 18, 2023, with a guarantee for four years, meaning its streaming rights expire from Netflix on April 18, 2027, the same date for Breaking Bad. Of course, there is still the possibility that a fresh deal could be made whereby the shows will remain available.
