GTA: San Andreas was released on October 26, 2004. It went on to become one of the most popular open-world titles of all time. In the 21 years since its release, the game has reached over 17.3 million copies sold, and is loved by fans.
What made San Andreas special was the freedom it gave players. You could go to the gym to build muscle, eat too much food and get fat, or even learn Kung Fu. The game also had gang wars, where you could take over different areas of the city. This made the game feel more real and exciting.
San Andreas’ story was definitely cool, too. It had action, friendship, betrayal and adventure. That was the case throughout the game world, from the massive cities to the countryside and deserts.
Even after so many years, no other game has given players the same level of freedom. GTA V has better graphics and a bigger world, but it removed features like eating food, changing body shape, and gang wars. Many players still wait for a new game that brings back the magic of San Andreas.
Will we ever get a GTA: San Andreas-type game again? We can only hope.
