President Donald Trump signed a paper on Sunday to make February 9 the first “Gulf of America Day.”
While flying over the Gulf of Mexico to the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Trump talked to reporters and announced the new special day and other plans for the week.
“As we bring back American pride and remember our history, this is the right time for our country to come together and celebrate this big event and the new name, Gulf of America,” Trump said.
Trump has been trying to change the name of the water between Florida and Texas, but it may take months to happen.
