Openings of Tri-Nation Series: Thrilling Pakistan vs New Zealand Showdown
After much waiting, the tri-series has finally kick-started in a brilliant sizzling match between Pakistan and New Zealand. This was the first game of what has now been termed as a tri-nation series involving these two teams and South Africa. The match became thrilling and intense nurturing some dazzling performances.
Pakistan is opposing New Zealand in the first one-day international match of the ODI Tri-Series 2024/25 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The Kiwis called for the toss and chose to bat, putting a target of 330 runs for Pakistan.
Strong hands in terms of batting performance were displayed when Glenn Phillips blasted a hundred while completing half centuries were Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell added to stretch the total to a mammoth one.
In reply, it was Fakhar Zaman who topped the batting figures for Pakistan with 84 runs. In the end, Pakistan could not chase down the target and eventually lost the match.
