In this blog post, I will compare ChatGPT and DeepSeek to determine their strengths and weaknesses in various aspects.
Main Focus
ChatGPT primarily focuses on assisting users with information, creativity, problem-solving, and automation through natural language conversations.
On the other hand, DeepSeek aims to develop advanced, cost-effective AI models. Their primary goal is to create AI solutions that rival or surpass existing industry leaders.
Pricing
ChatGPT-4.0 is a paid service, whereas DeepSeek R1 is free and open-source, making it accessible to anyone.
Interface
Both ChatGPT and DeepSeek have similar interfaces, offering a user-friendly experience.
Performance Testing
Test #1: Coding
ChatGPT:
Prompt: Write an HTML header code.
Opinion: ChatGPT generated the code quickly, and the output was clean and visually appealing.
DeepSeek:
Prompt: Write an HTML header code.
Opinion: DeepSeek was slower in generating the code. While the code was technically correct, it was not as visually appealing.
Test #2: Data Analytics
ChatGPT:
Prompt: What happened on the 4th of July?
Opinion: ChatGPT provided a fast response but provided a shorter, less detailed answer.
DeepSeek:
Prompt: What happened on the 4th of July?
Opinion: DeepSeek was slower in processing the request but it provided a detailed and well-structured answer.
Test #3: Basic Calculations
ChatGPT:
Prompt: 756 multiplied by 4, then divided by 6.
Opinion: ChatGPT provided a quick response but did not offer a step-by-step explanation of the calculation.
DeepSeek:
Prompt: 756 multiplied by 4, then divided by 6.
Opinion: DeepSeek generated a step-by-step solution, making it more useful for mathematical explanations.
Which One Is Right for You?
If you need AI for complex calculations or advanced-level coding, DeepSeek might be a better choice. However, if you need AI for general coding, creative tasks, or data analytics, ChatGPT is the better option. Deepseek might give you detailed data analytics but I have experienced many times Deepseek provided wrong information
Note: These tests are based on personal experience. AI models continue to evolve, and their capabilities may change in the future.
