The cryptocurrency market had an amazing year in 2024 with some huge regulatory milestones. There were SEC approvals of 11 spot Bitcoin ETFs, which put BTC into an all-time high in March, and, later in July, approved spot Ethereum ETFs. The latter didn’t cause a record-breaking price in the immediate sense but was an extremely important step for the industry nevertheless.
This has been among the continuous pleas of the US crypto industry regarding the allowance of crypto-based ETFs. A potential new SEC chair, thought to be friendly, may make 2025 a year of many new ETF products.
So, here are three cryptocurrencies next year, whose ETF products may finally get approved for –
Solana (SOL): Brazil’s approval of SOL ETFs might position the US market to do the same. Under a Trump administration, this might be accelerated, says BlackRock’s CIO, but it might not be this soon.
Ripple (XRP): XRP has been quite strong since its lawsuit settlement with the SEC and breaking above the $2 mark. WisdomTree’s pending S1 for a spot XRP ETF will be waiting on the SEC’s decision.
Cardano (ADA): ADA’s recent rally coincides with Trump’s election victory, indicating potential support for its ETF under his leadership. Cardano’s strong development activity further enhances its prospects.
